Instructions for Completing the Ed.D. Course Program Plan
Read all instructions.
The specific requirements for the Ed.D. program are obtained in your department. Your departmental adviser will
assist you in planning and completing your course program plan. On your program, list all graduate credits you’re
transferring, namely: name of graduate school, title and number of credits per course. You may transfer a maximum
of 45 credits. Your departmental statement will indicate required Teachers College Courses and electives you’ll
need to complete your program.
1. Type or neatly print all entries in ink.
2. If changes have to be made on your course program plan after it has been approved by the Committee, obtain a
"Change of Course Program Plan Form" in the Office of Doctoral Studies. It is not necessary to alter
the course program plan if you change the semester of the courses taken.
3. After the Committee approves your course program plan, you and your adviser will receive a copy.
4. When a course is listed in more than one section of the Program Plan, enter the course number and place a dash
(-) in the area for credits so as to avoid duplication of the credit count.
5. Course credits for IND 6000 (Doctoral Candidate) or R Credit (Attendance) may not be offered to satisfy minimum
course requirement in any of the distribution areas on this form.
6. Other forms are not acceptable. Use only the pink program plan form from ODS, for the submission of your program
plan.
7. Plan your program plan with your adviser’s help. Have your adviser check for accuracy before it is submitted
to the Doctoral Office for review.
8. The candidate’s name should appear on each form and only one page needs the adviser’s signature.
9. Maximum graduate transfer credits is 45.
10. A minimum of 90 credits is required for the Ed.D. Degree.
