Elisabeth Barnett is a Senior Research Associate with NCREST at Teachers College, Columbia University. She is project director for a research initiative designed to support the development of early college high schools associated with the Middle College National Consortium. She previously served as Assistant Director of the Office of Community College Research and Development at the University of Illinois. Elisabeth’s research interests relate to high school college transition, community colleges, access to college, and institutional change. She has conducted or participated in research projects related to: evaluation of Tech Prep, dual credit/enrollment, P-16 initiatives, exemplary career and technical education practices, and community college persistence. Elisabeth worked in social services management and international development for many years before beginning her career as a researcher. She has bachelors and masters degrees from the School for International Training, a masters degree from the University of Texas, and is currently completing her doctoral work at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
