Please join us for a preview and
discussion with the filmmakers of "Marines Go Home: Henoko,
Maehyang-ri, Yausubetsu.”
The
film is a depiction of the local struggle to stop many of the damaging short
and long term effects resulting from the US military bases in Henoko (Okinawa,
Japan), Maehyang-ri (South Korea), and Yausubetsu (Hokkaido, Japan). The
most noticeable of these effects include violence against women, rape and
environmental degradation.

of Maehyang-ri have been suffering from the US Air Force exercises. 12 Villagers
have been killed and 19 injured.
Yausubetsu ( Hokkaido, Japan)
Since 1997, the US Marines have repeatedly
come to Yausubetsu for real shell exercises.
