The program is designed to enlarge and promote the realization of the FIFA Fair Play Campaign as a strategy to connect soccer to the call to end violence against women. The young women participants in the program shall demonstrate the possibility of eradicating violence in soccer as well as ending violence against women. During the 4 day peace soccer education and tournament, the Peace Education Department of Teachers Without Borders Nigeria shall launch a new handbook titled: “Educating for Peace through Soccer”, an innovative educational material to promote peaceful soccer for a peaceful world without violence. Gerson immediately wrote a peace declaration in Colombian press and wrote the song "Constructors of peace”. This was the beginning of Gerson’s work for peace. World Voices Norway, a Norwegian youth organisation, was one of many who discovered Gerson’s passion and desire for a better world. They included Gerson’s submission in the book “Have you got a minute?” and contacted Norwegian-Colombian artist Stig van Eijk and the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra to draw attention to landmines through Gerson’s song. It worked. In 2002 he was nominated to the Nobel Peace Prize. And now, with unique support from organisations such as Akribe Editorials/Gaidaros, Save the Children, Rotary International, UNICEF and the former UN’s representative for children in armed conflict, as well as personalities such as HM Queen Noor of Jordan, Nobel Laureate Jody Williams and UN special envoy for conflict resolution, Jan Egeland, Gerson’s dream is about to come true: The CD single is ready! Send your order to Gert Danielsen, project coordinator in World Voices Norway, on gertico@yahoo.no. We look forward to hearing from you! Thanks for your support to Colombia’s children – for a slightly better world! Given the current context of the field of international conflict, the impact of emotions on conflict has become one of the most important questions worldwide. However, there are only scattered publications in the research and applied literature that would address issues on conflict and emotion directly, as well as their relations and their impact on public policy. The workshops are envisaged as a learning community gathering, interactive and highly participatory. The purpose is to create an open space to identify and sharpen our understanding of the discourse and debate on emotion and conflict and the role that might, or might not be played by humiliation within this field.
