The links reflect the access provided to the site's images. Only two or indexex above are comprehensive, the two beginning "All". All works is comprehensive in that it covers every work drawn for the site; All drawingsin that it covers all drawings done. Each of the others is restricted to images of drawings of the sort suggested by its label. Either through selecting a thumbnail, a name or a title, each of the other exhibits or index lists provides access to a 6 inch digital image of the drawing and some comments about the work reflected, the drawing of it, or both.

As pointed out in Background on this site below, the index of a site like this is crucial for providing the visitor with the ability to navigate to what he or she wants to see, and to quickly determine if something is represented in the site at all. This page also suggests, more than any other in the site, the feature of concurrent exhibition (displaying a given image in two or more exhibits simultaneously). As one illustration, consider Barlach's "Singing Man" (right sidebar, one up from bottom) drawn only once for this site. With respect to all the links above, "Singing Man" can be found concurrently in the exhibits (1) Sculptures, (2) Images of males, (3) All works, and (4) All drawings, and in the lists: (5) Artist name (A - K), and (6) Work title (S - V). As another illustration, compare the simultaneously different arrangements of the same drawings in the exhibits All works, and All drawings, and consider the difference in information coveyed by the two.
