Painting and Pottery-Modeling

COMMUNITY ART STUDIO: PAINTING

INSTRUCTOR: MARTY SPENCE & KATHY ROSAMOND

Community Painting is a non-credit adult educational course, designed to support each participant’s level of skill.   Community studio members work toward their own goals in paint and mixed media with the instructor’s assistance as well as enjoying the support of other members of the studio community.

The primary emphasis within this course is upon individual artistic growth and development. Emphasis is focused on experimentation and exploration with painting and drawing materials. Beginners as well as people with experience are welcome.

The course fee is $450 in the spring and fall, and $320 in the summer. Fees can be paid to the instructor or the Art Education office, 444B Macy Gallery, no earlier than the week before the start date of each semester.

The course fee includes initial drawing and painting exercise materials and additional studio access beyond scheduled class hours. Additional materials and tools will be needed depending on the goals and ambitions of the individual.

Open studios all week. 445 Macy Hall. Meet and learn from other artists

Classes Thursdays evenings - 5:00 - 8:00 pm, during the school term and in the summer. 

Classes include watercolor instruction, mixed media, and fundamentals of drawing and painting. 

Some materials provided.

$280 Summer - 10 weeks; $450 Spring & Fall - 14 weeks

COMMUNITY ART STUDIOS: POTTERY - MODELING

INSTRUCTOR: STEPANKA HORALKOVA

This is a non credit adult educational course in ceramics tailored to match each learner’s skill level and personal interests. Within this course, each community studio participant works toward their own goals with clay and receives support from the instructor as well as other members of the studio community.

The primary emphasis of this course is upon individual artistic growth and development, with an emphasis upon experimentation and exploration with ceramic materials.

Beginners as well as people with experience are welcome.

The course fee is $575 in spring and fall, and $450 in the summer. Fee can be paid directly to Stepanka Horalkova community ceramics instructor in Macy 59, no earlier then week before the start date of each semester. Additional studio access beyond class hours is included.

The course fee includes 50lb of clay as well all glazes and firings. Additional materials and tools may be needed depending upon the goals and ambitions of individual student.

Classes Thursday evenings 5:00-8:00 pm, during the school term and in the summer.
