As the Director of Academic Administration for the Department of Arts & Humanities, one of my primary responsibilities is to aid students in finding their way here at Teachers College. Navigating a new institution, especially funding your education can be challenging, and you have allies in the process. Diligence and an understanding of the resources at your disposal can go a long way.
For most students, their home is their program. Your faculty, staff and fellow students are the community that will sustain you during your time at TC and into your life beyond our gates. Take the time to meet with your advisor regularly, check bulletin boards for forms and deadlines and always reach out when you have a question.
A major concern for many students is funding your time at TC. Please visit our Student Funding page for more details. Also, keep an eye out for email announcements concerning Teachers College and Columbia University sponsored job fairs and check with Career Services for external job possibilities.
Finally, we are always looking to profile student projects and events on our website and blog. Please let our Department Secretary, Brian Carroll, know about any upcoming projects or events you would like publicized.
I hope this begins to get you started. If I can be of service, please let me know.
