Professor James StillwaggonVisiting Fall 2009A&HF 4090: Philosophies of Education (Mondays, 5:10pm-6:50pm)James Stillwaggon is an Assistant Professor at Iona College's School of Arts and Sciences, where he teaches courses in educational philosophy and diversity. His primary areas of study include pedagogical relations, teacher identity, and the intersection of theories of subjectivity and education. Other areas of interest include the portrayal of teacher and student identity in popular film and problems of recognition in democratic education. Recent publications include "Performing for the Students: Teaching Identity and the Pedagogical Relation" (
