Description: Our interactive 5-day intensive MathCamp program helps middle school teachers apply the shifts specified by the Common Core Mathematics Standards into their classroom instruction.

Featured Program Director: Dr. Peter Garrity, visiting professor at Teachers College, Columbia University, who developed this proven intensive five-day program.

* Developed MathCamp.com, a website containing over one hundred and fifty interactive math lessons for elementary and middle school teachers.

* Consultant to a number of school districts on Long Island and New York City. Recently Dr. Garrity’s work has focused on helping these districts in aligning curriculum to the Common Core as well as integrating instructional strategies that bring ALL students to college and career readiness.

Teachers from all over the United States have attended Dr. Garrity’s MathCamp program at Teachers College.

    Beth Pollak is teaching at MS 328 (164th and Amsterdam near Washington Heights). She is the 6th and 7th grade science teacher for dual-language, bilingual, and ESL classes. She's really enjoying every second of teaching and working with the students, and it's a great challenge of course to differentiate the instruction for such a variety of levels and students.
