Applied music lessons are available on any instrument at any level. Teachers
College applied music lessons are offered for credit only and they are
available to all Columbia degree candidates. To sign up for applied
music lessons, please fill out our pre-registration survey during the
regular Teachers College registration period for each semester.
Using the information you provide on the pre-registration survey, the Music Education program will assign you to an instructor. Your instructor will then phone or email you to set up a lesson day, time, and place.
You receive 10 hours of lesson time per semester for 2 credits at Teachers College. You and your instructor will decide how to divide the time (i.e., how long each lesson will last) and how often you will meet.
