Summer MA Intensive (INSTEP)Our Intensive Summer Teacher Education Program (INSTEP) program is designed for public, private, and initially certified school teachers, who are looking for a convenient and exciting way to obtain a master's degree in Music Education.
We recognize that you need to devote your attention to curriculum planning and teaching. INSTEP enables you to complete a master's degree in three summers, with minimal on-site coursework during the academic year. INSTEP provides you with the opportunity to continue your examination of curriculum theory and development, pedagogy, and policy without interrupting your career.
INSTEP is guided by pedagogical and philosophical underpinnings that reflect current trends in rethinking and re-conceiving the teaching of Music. This M.A. program will meet the recently conceived state and national teacher preparation standards.
Our graduate program will provide you with the analytical and critical skills required to integrate theory and practice, the hallmark of a Teachers College degree. By attending Teachers College you will have access to an unparalleled faculty and student body, many of whom have achieved national and international recognition.
