Practicum ◊ Practicum Application

Practicum placements are generally in the Center for Educational and Psychological Services (CEPS), an in-house training clinic located at 657 Thorndike Hall.  All students in their first year will complete their practicum at CEPS.  Students during their second and third year may petition program faculty to complete practicum placements off-campus.  Deadline for petitions is March 15; site must be approved by program faculty.  Arrangements regarding case conference requirements will need to be made accordingly. 

First year of practicum: (Application)
This sequence involves: 
CCPJ 5360 Practicum in career and personal counseling (4)
(If needed; please see advisor)
CCPJ 6330 Basic Practicum in individual counseling and psychotherapy (4) (one semester)
(Weekly individual supervision, case conference attendance, and attending a wweekly 2-hour seminar class)

Second year of practicum: (Application)
CCPJ 6360 Practice in psychological counseling (8) (Two semesters) Fall (4) & Spring (4)
(Weekly individual supervision, case conference attendance, and attending a weekly 2-hour seminar class).  Should not be taken with externship.

Third year of practicum: (Application)
CCPJ 5364 Advanced Practicum in Cross-Cultural counseling and psychotherapy (4)
(Two semesters) Fall (2) & Spring (2)
(Weekly individual supervision, case conference attendance, and attending a weekly 2-hour seminar class.)

Total credits for Practicum: 16-20
