Event Details: Language, Identity, and Culture

Description: Please join us as we acknowledge and celebrate the tremendous contribution to the field of multilingual education by Professor Maria Torres-Guzman, Coordinator of the Program in Bilingual/Bicultural Education, Teachers College, Columbia University, NYC. After more than 25 years as professor, mentor and advocate of ethnolinguistic minorities, Dr. Torres-Guzman will retire at the end of this spring 2013.

On Friday, May 3rd, there will be an evening reception from 6-8PM at Amsterdam Restaurant & Tapas

On Saturday, May 4th there will be a conference on Language, Identity, and Culture at TC. The conference will run from 9AM - 6PM, and be followed by a dinner. Please follow this link to see the full agenda.

  • 2007 Profiles: Where did they go?

    Beth Pollak is teaching at MS 328 (164th and Amsterdam near Washington Heights). She is the 6th and 7th grade science teacher for dual-language, bilingual, and ESL classes. She's really enjoying every second of teaching and working with the students, and it's a great challenge of course to differentiate the instruction for such a variety of levels and students.
