Advanced Certificate in Bilingual/Bicultural Education 15-16 Points
The Advanced Certificate is for students who are pursuing a Masters degree in another program (must already hold or be pursuing Initial Certification in that program), or non-degree students who already have teacher certification and want the Bilingual Extension Certification, but not a Masters degree in Bilingual Education.
- Non-TC students who wish to enroll in the Advanced Certificate Program must complete a non-degree student application through the Office of Admission, and submit the BBE Supplemental Application (see How to Apply)
- TC students who wish to enroll in the Advanced Certificate Program must submit the BBE Supplemental Application (see How to Apply).
This is not a degree program. It may be completed in as little as one year.

*For Advanced Certificate students, the Practicum experience consists of 50 fieldwork hours in a bilingual setting in the student's LOTE, plus weekly class meetings, usually after taking A&HB 4021, A&HB 4121, and A&HB 4028. If you need a classroom placement, you must take the Practicum for 4 credits.
