Getting a Job

After completing our program, students go on to teach English in a variety of settings all over the globe. Many teach English as a Foreign Language (EFL) overseas, while others choose to work in community English classes or private language schools here in the United States.

An important part of our intensive summer program is the annual Career Planning Workshop, when we discuss the ins and outs of a career in TESOL. Graduates of the program also have access to the Teachers College TESOL Jobs list-serve with postings for work at private institutions and universities in the U.S. and abroad, as well as tutoring jobs in the New York area.

Students who successfully complete our program are encouraged to request letters of recommendation from their instructors when applying for future teaching positions and graduate programs. Click here for request form
