Technology Partners: A Project Approach to Pre-Service Technology Infusion
Working with a consortium comprised of urban school districts and related organizations that specialize in creating technology-rich curriculum activities, the project at Teachers College will ensure that its candidates can use technology in the classroom effectively. Not only will graduates possess the core technology skills necessary for the modern classroom, but they will also have the knowledge to create their own technology-based curriculum projects. The consortium has used video, online discussions, portfolios, and electronic library resources to develop student teachers' technology skills. The consortium also provides technology training for Teachers College faculty and the K-12 mentor teachers involved in the college's teacher preparation program.
