Ed.M. Program

Program Objectives

The objective of the Ed.M. in Economics and Education is to impart the comprehensive knowledge and skills required for the study of the linkages between education and the economy.  Courses in the program provide a serious analytical benchmark for the analysis of financial and economic issues in education, in the United States and other countries.  The program allows a student to specialize in a number of areas including economic growth, immigration, higher education, privatization, and international education, but provides a foundation in economics and educational policy through courses that address these topics.  It is particularly suitable for individuals who want to go beyond the coursework of the M.A. program but do not want the advanced training of the Ph.D. program.

The program is a two-year program and students are awarded the degree after the satisfactory completion of a minimum of 60 points of graduate work.
