For four years Nikole has held English education posts in New York City’s public schools—first as an ninth, tenth, and eleventh grade teacher at FDNY High School in East New York, Brooklyn, and currently as a humanities teacher at August Martin High School in Jamaica, Queens. In addition to her teaching posts, Nikole has held several leadership positions during her tenure with the New York City Department of Education. Most notably she held the titles of teaching adjunct professor of English Composition and Rhetoric for John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Assistant Principal of Supervision at Performing Arts and Technology High School’s Young Adult Borough Program, United Federation of Teachers Chapter Leader at FDNY High School for three years and Chairperson of various School Leadership Teams.
