B.A. in Health & Human Studies from SUNY Buffalo with a concentration in Early Childhood Education; M.Ed in Special Education from University of Vermont. Carolyn began her career in education in Buffalo, NY as a preschool teacher. While studying inclusive education theory and practice at UVM, Carolyn formed a deep passion for working with students with special needs. She has taught in NYC public schools for the past seven years. Carolyn's experiences include teaching in District 75 Special Education programs and co-teaching in a collaborative team teaching setting for four years. Carolyn also served as a mentor to new teachers and facilitated development of curriculum within her school. Carolyn currently teaches K-5 students who receive Special Education Teacher Support Services and provides staff workshops focusing on IEP development and best practices at PS 89 in Manhattan. Carolyn's goal is to be a supportive leader in an urban school where she can foster the growth of teachers and students.
