B.A. in Religion from Columbia University. Upon graduating Jose was accepted to Teach for America where he started his career as an educator at McKinley Elementary School in Newark, where he teaches fourth grade self-contained classroom. Jose has worked as a Corp Member Advisor for Teacher for America for the past two summers. Jose has been the chairman of the school leadership council for the past three years, and he is currently the lead mentor teacher in his school for the Newark Montclair Urban Teacher Residency Program. Jose aspires to become an effective school leader who is able to create an environment of learning, cooperation, and reflection for all students, teachers, and stakeholders.
