Marielys Garcia

B.A. in Spanish from Cornell University; M.A. in Teaching - Secondary Spanish from American University. Marielys began her career in education as a Teach for America corps member in Washington, DC, teaching Spanish. She has taught Spanish levels 1-3 during the past four years. Currently, Marielys teaches Spanish 3 and is the Spanish Department Chair at Thurgood Marshall Academy in Washington, DC. She aspires to lead a school that strongly intertwines the social and intellectual needs of students within a rigorous academic program.
