B.A. in Government and Spanish from Georgetown University; M.A. in Teaching from American University with dual certification in Spanish and Social Studies. Prior to teaching full time, Michael worked for the United States Department of Justice Office of Consumer Litigation. Michael began his career in education in Washington, DC teaching elementary and middle school students in a dual language Spanish immersion program at an international school. He is a member of the Capital Gains program as part of the Alliance for Quality Urban Education. Currently, Michael is a high school Spanish and Social Studies teacher at Thurgood Marshall Academy in Washington, DC and is the Varsity basketball coach. He aspires to be a future school leader and reformer.
