B.S. in Education with a minor in Leadership, Ethics, and Social Action from Indiana University; M.A. in Master of Education Administration from St. Louis University. Emily began her career in education in St. Louis Public Schools at Roosevelt High School and taught Special Education. Then, Emily was a founding teacher at The Big Picture Academy, a new alternative education program for the district. She has served as a 9th-11th grade Advisor at The Big Picture over the past three years. Emily was named the St. Louis Public Schools Teacher of the Year 2009-2010 and was a Missouri State Teacher of the Year finalist. Emily is an alumni of Teach for America. During the 2010-2011 school year Emily will be working as an Assistant Principal in the Indianapolis Public Schools. Emily aspires to become a principal in an urban public school district.
