Tina Acker is currently the Principal of Vernon PK-8 School in Portland Public Schools. She has been associated with education for the past 17 years as a teacher, instructional specialist, administrator, and adjunct professor. Ms. Acker is also the Oregon State Representative for the National Association of Elementary School Principals. She was recently elected to serve as the President-Elect of the Confederation of Oregon School Administrators. She has supported the work of administrators in Oregon, locally and in Washington, D.C. She successfully completed the National Principals’ Mentor Program through NAESP in 2008, and is one of the two nationally certified mentors in Oregon. She is also serving as a coach to a cohort of administrators through NAESP. Tina had an opportunity to work as an adjunct faculty member at Concordia University in the College of Education and is now looking forward to representing Columbia University and seeking professional development opportunities to strengthen the profession.
