Gloria Román is Principal of Ana Roqué de Duprey Elementary School in Chicago, a small K-8 school she founded 22 years ago. She graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Roosevelt University, received her Master of Arts in Bilingual Education from Governor State University and her Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Leadership from National Louis University. In 2007, Gloria earned her Doctor of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola University in Chicago. She taught a Supervision course as Adjunct Professor at Northeastern Illinois University, where she also served as a Coach in the Star School Leadership Project Building School Leadership Residency program. She is currently participating in the National Board Certification for Principals pilot project. She has completed the e-portfolio requirements and hopes to be one in the first cohort to achieve this accomplishment in the Fall of 2012.
