Larry Gabbard is currently the acting principal of PACE High School, a small, college-prep school in Manhattan's lower east side. He was previously the assistant principal at the original Eagle Academy for Young Men in the Bronx, where he was also a founding faculty member and English teacher. Gabbard started teaching at Community Elementary School #126 in the South Bronx as a NYC Teaching Fellow. Prior to education, he was a marketing professional in the private sector, holding several managerial titles in international venture capital firms and banking institutions. He has an M.Ed. in Organization and Leadership from Columbia University-Teachers College where he was a founding cohort member of the Summer Principals Academy, and has since returned as co-instructor of several courses in the program. Gabbard has an MS in Elementary Education from CUNY Lehman College and a BA double major in English and Telecommunications from Indiana University. He remains a Hoosier at heart despite his fifteen plus years in NYC.
