B.A. in Education and Psychology, Fordham University; M.S. in Learning Disabilities, Hunter College. As a 3rd grade teacher at the Orchard School in Ridgewood, New Jersey, Maria is currently a teacher leader responsible for developing a balanced literacy curriculum. She also serves as a participant in the Teachers College Reading and Writing Leadership Institute Group. Before transitioning to her present position in New Jersey, Maria previously worked for 14 years as a dual language classroom teacher at PS 84 in New York City. She received her National Board Certification in 2000.
