Marie Salle
B.A. in Philosophy and Religious Studies, University of Pittsburgh; M.A. in Special Education, New Jersey City University. As part of her undergraduate study, Marie spent a semester enrolled in the Semester at Sea program where she had the opportunity to voyage to Cuba, Brazil, South Africa, Kenya, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, China and Japan. After graduating from college she spent time as a mentor counselor, a youth facilitator and an applied behavior analysis therapist. Currently she is a faculty member of McNair Academic High School in New Jersey as a Special Education teacher. Recognizing a cultural gap between the special education and general education populations in her school, she set out to bring them together by creating a program whereby students of each group become pen pals.
