    Program Description
    AEGIS is a highly selective, fast-track cohort program leading to the Ed.D. in Adult Education Guided Intensive Study for mid-career professionals who work full time, and who choose to pursue a doctorate in a concentrated format. The program emphasizes leadership for adult and organizational learning. Scholar practitioners are helped to examine and critique theory and professional experience. The program is designed for experienced, self-directed professionals capable of completing a rigorous program emphasizing guided independent study.

    Our program prepares leaders who help adults improve the way they live and work through more effective instrumental learning, but we do not stop there. A hallmark of our programs is the fostering of transformative learning.  The mission of the program is to empower graduates as facilitators of learning across the lifespan – in and outside of classrooms and virtual learning spaces.

    With a nationally recognized faculty and a tradition of prominence, the Education Leadership Program prepares students for careers as practitioners and scholars to lead and transform a wide variety of educating organizations. Students are equipped to lead educational practice; to influence political systems, education law, and education policy; to apply the methods of social science research to the conduct of inquiry; and to seek equality, equity, and diversity in education.

    Program: Executive Program for Nurses

    Program Description
    The Executive Program for Nurses provides specialized learning in Administration and Professorial Studies in order to prepare leaders for roles in healthcare organizations – both service and education. These roles are defined as those that advance, implement, and manage the practice of nursing and healthcare without primarily operating in one-to-one relationships with students or clients. Hence, the graduates of this program will have their major impact on nursing and healthcare by influencing other interdisciplinary healthcare providers and learners.

    The Higher and Postsecondary Education Program strives to prepare knowledgeable practitioners and practicing scholars in the field of higher education. Additionally, the program strives to develop the abilities to analyze and foster excellence in teaching and learning, scholarly and professional development, and student development. Further, the program strives to develop understandings of social and comparative perspectives, with attention to the connection between institutions of higher education and their external constituencies.

  • Program: Social-Organizational Psychology

    Program: Social-Organizational Psychology

    Program Description
    The program in Social-Organizational Psychology provides its students with a unique synthesis of the disciplines of social psychology and organizational psychology and in the adherence to a scholar-practitioner model: theory and research must inform practice and practice must inform theory and research.  Additionally, the program believes in the importance of examining and understanding organizational issues from multiple perspectives and contexts – from the individual, the group, and the organizational levels.
