    ΆΒ Hosting SLRF 2006

    The 28th Annual Second Language Research Forum (SLRF 2005) Organizing Committee invites proposals to host SLRF 2006.

    The proposal should include the description of the following:

    Dates of the Conference


    Facilities
    Where will the conference be held? What are the facilities like?

    Sponsors
    Is there support for the conference at your institution? What support has already been secured and what are anticipated sources of support?

    Organizing Committee
    Who is on the conference committee? Are there enough people willing to work on organizing the conference at your institution? From what departments/programs? Who will be your faculty advisor(s)?

    Conference theme
    What will be the general focus of the conference?

    Special Features
    Is there anything special that your organization will bring to SLRF 2006? For example, special colloquia, roundtables, workshops, etc.?

    Schedule
    General proposed overview of the conference.

    Social Events
    What social events would be planned? What social and cultural experiences are available in the area?

    Accommodations
    Accommodations that will be available to attendees and approximate prices for hotels.
    Will there be low cost accommodation options available since SLRF is a conference that many graduate students attend?

    Transportation
    How accessible is your institution? Describe closest airports, train stations, public transportation in town, campus transportation, etc.

    Previous SLRFs
    Has SLRF been held at your institution before? If yes, when?

    Conference Rates
    How much will it cost people to attend?

    Technical Support
    How will you create and maintain a website? How will you maintain the SLRF contact, abstract and registration information?

    The proposal should be submitted on behalf of a committee which is already established. Proposals should not exceed 1200 words in length. Please e-mail the proposal to the SLRF 2005 Organizing Committee at the address below. While there is no need to send supporting materials, web addresses of sites related to the proposal can be included.


    Deadline for Submissions: June 1st, 2005

    E-mail the proposal to slrf2005@tc.columbia.edu with the subject heading "SLRF 2006 PROPOSAL".
