Pilar Soler is the present Director of the Accelerated Schools Center at Teachers College, Columbia University. She served as Director for Training Development at the National Center for the Accelerated Schools Project at Stanford University for four years, and as Consultant and Project Associate for five previous years. In these capacities, she developed the training process for school change for Accelerated Schools, trained over 200 coaches, and followed up several hundred schools. She also served as Lecturer in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Stanford University for five years. Prior to 1986, when she began to work on school reform, she had been a public health educator with experience in several health organizations.
