Recycling Program and Procedures
The College adopted a single stream recycling program in the fall 2011, after piloting another recycling method. Single stream recycling eliminates the need to separate paper from cans, bottles and plastic. The new program expands the ability to recycle more types of plastics, expands food recycling in the dining hall, and will eliminate confusion by asking you to sort fewer items.
TC produces 1280 tons of solid waste per year. Of that about 35% is recycled as follows:
