Beginning the Friday Before Memorial Day Weekend (May 25, 2012)
Ending the Friday Before Labor Day Weekend (August 31, 2012)
In accordance with policy, during the Summer months from Friday, May 25, 2012, through the Friday of Labor Day weekend, August 31, 2012 inclusive, full-time professional staff and full-time support personnel on appointment who work from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. may conclude their work at 3:00 p.m. each Friday (except during regular and late registration periods).
If operational need requires that employees work beyond 3:00 p.m. on Fridays during this period, the employees may be eligible for additional compensation or consideration, based on the terms of the respective collective bargaining agreements.
For those whose work schedules vary, the early closing is interpreted to mean that eligible employees on appointment will work the usual work week less 2 hours. Please note that this bonus time is not cumulative.
Absence for the entire day on Friday is to be calculated as a full working day, i.e., full day of vacation or sick leave.
Part-time appointees are not eligible for this two hour bonus. They will, therefore, need to arrange their schedules to account for the total appointed hours.
