YOU'VE BEEN HIRED!

Welcome to Teachers College!  We'd like to ensure that you are entered into our payroll system as quickly as possible.  In order to accomplish this, we ask that you complete all pages of the Post Hire Packet.  It is also very important for the Position Information Section on the first page to be completed and signed by your Supervisor.

In order to comply with Federal Regulations please make sure that you bring your completed Post Hire Packet along with the acceptable identifying documents (listed on page seven of the Packet) within THREE work days of your start date to Human Resources (112 Zankel).

When you submit these documents to Human Resources, we will be glad to provide you with the information necessary to obtain your Teachers College ID.

NEW WORK STUDY employees should visit the Office of Financial Aid (134 Thompson Hall) for additional Post Hire Forms that are not available online.  Also, Work Study employees must submit their completed Post Hire Packet to the Office of Financial Aid.

NEW INTERNATIONAL employees should use the International Post Hire Packet.  As well as their Supervisor's signature, International employees will need to visit the International Services Office (L5 Whittier) for signed approval on their Post Hire Form.

Additionally, some international employees should complete the 8233 form.  This form establishes tax exempt status.  Only complete this form if your country of origin has an existing tax treaty with the US.  Please refer to the following document for a list of countries with tax treaties.

If your country is on this list, please complete the 8233 Form.  Refer to the official IRS instructions for this form with any additional questions.

Every Teachers College employee must have a Social Security Number.  If you have not yet applied for one, please complete and submit the attached application to a Social Security office.  Please bring the receipt of application to the Office of Human Resources (112 Zankel).
