We manage the enrollment process for both of the Health Service Program and the Columbia Student Medical Insurance Plans. Lastly, we provide general information and administrative support for both of these services.

Description: Teachers College, Columbia University Working Papers in TESOL and Applied Linguistics cordially invites you to our second Brown Bag Lunch Presentation in the fall:
"Recasts, Grammatical Morphemes, and L2 Learning: A Longitudinal Case Study of Korean L2 Learners"
Dr. Sunhee Song
Teachers College, Columbia University
Date: November 3, 2009 (Tuesday)
Time: 12 pm - 1 pm
Venue: 306 Russell (the Gottesman Libraries)
(Bring your own lunch; beverages and dessert will be provided.)
At the presentation, Dr. Song will showcase a longitudinal case study that investigates the effects of intensive recasts on L2 learners`
knowledge and use of English grammatical morphemes, in particular, using a time-series design. Possible variables accounting for the
results, including learners` developmental readiness, will be reviewed critically. The presentation will also highlight how the obligatory contexts for recasts created in naturalistic interaction, which could
be traced back to the learners` tendency to use certain grammatical morphemes more frequently on such an occasion, might have been a constraining factor working against the efficacy of recasts.
