Maria Hataier

Maria began as the Director of Student Activities and Programs in February 2005 after spending almost four years in student activities at Stony Brook University. Her interests in higher education began in college, after earning a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Public Administration at York College of Pennsylvania. After working in the government sector, she decided to attend graduate school at Shippensburg University, where she completed a Master's degree in Counseling and College Student Personnel and became fully invested in the field of student affairs. In her professional career, she has worked as a Coordinator of Student Development at North Carolina Wesleyan and as the First Year Programming Coordinator/Residence Hall Director at Manhattanville College.

Yvonne Destin

Yvonne has nearly 20 years of experience in Student Affairs but began her professional career as a third grade teacher. She was born in the Midwest but raised in New Jersey. She is involved in numerous community organizations and enjoys spending time with her family. Yvonne is a graduate of Penn State University and Teachers College, Columbia University.

Deanne joined Teachers College in June 2009 as an intern in the department, began working full-time in the Office of Insurance and Immunization Records in January 2010, and transitioned in January 2012 to Student Activities. A 2007 graduate of Penn State University and The Schreyer Honors College, she graduated with degrees in Marketing, French, and International Studies. Her involvement at Penn State in various activities such as the Schreyer Honors College Student Council, Penn State Homecoming, and Penn State Dance MaraTHON opened her eyes to the field of student affairs and she is excited to begin her professional career here at Teachers College.

Coordinator of the Graduate Writing Center
Monica began as the Coordinator of the Graduate Writing Center in September 2008. At the Graduate Writing Center, she coordinates an outstanding team of doctoral students to provide writing tutoring services to the TC community. Throughout the year, she also facilitates a number of writing workshops, including Intro to APA, and Concept Mapping. She received an MA in Psychology in Education from Teachers College in 2006.
