Event Details: CU SpeakOUT, Safe Zones Training
The Office for Diversity and Community Affairs invites you to the CU SpeakOUT Training for TC faculty and staff!
Thursday, November 14th
10:00am - 12:00pm, Location TBA
Facilitated by Lea Robinson, Assistant Director, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Programming & Advising
Office of Multicultural Affairs, Columbia University
CU SpeakOUT, is a CU based training program in which straight-identified allies and lesbian, gay, bisexual transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people are educated about LGBTQ issues and can actively express their affirmation for the LGBTQ community at TC & Columbia University. Join us in this effort to create a more LGBTQ-inclusive and welcoming environment at TC.
Once you have completed the training, if you agree, your name and workplace may be listed as safe to talk about LGBTQ issues and to be a place where students, staff and faculty can be “out,” or reveal their sexual orientation or gender identity. Please note that the lack of inclusion on the list should not be interpreted to indicate one’s attitude regarding LGBTQ people or issues one way or another.
If you are interested in participating, Please RSVP to Jolene Lane (email@example.com) or x8410. (Limited to 25 people)
All previous trainings were very successful and we have been asked to continue the trainings through this year.
