#201.1 Nondiscrimination Policy

Notice of Nondiscriminatory Policy as to Students and Employees

Pursuant to Revenue Procedure 75-50 dated December 8, 1975, and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 ("Title IX") and part 86 of the Health and Human Services regulations promulgated to effectuate Title IX, Teachers College hereby gives notice of its nondiscriminatory policy as to students and employees:

Continuing its long-standing policy to support actively equality for all persons, Teachers College does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, citizenship status, ancestry, age, veteran status, military status, disability, pregnancy and gender expression and/or identity or any other class protected by federal, state or local laws in the administration of its admission, employment and educational policies or scholarship, loan, athletic and other school-administered programs. Rather, Teachers College affirms that it admits students and selects employees regardless of their race, creed, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, citizenship status, ancestry, age, veteran status, military status, disability, pregnancy and gender expression and/or identity or any other class protected by federal, state or local laws and thereafter accords them all the rights and privileges generally made available to students or employees at the school.

Inquiries regarding the application of Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972, as amended, and regulations there under, to any policy, program or other activity of the College should be directed to the Director of the Office of Human Resources, who serves as the College's Equal Opportunity Officer. The Director is also designated to coordinate the College's compliance activities under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, as amended, and the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, and can be contacted through the Office of Human Resources (Box 149, 112 Zankel, 525 West 120th Street, New York, NY 10027, telephone 212-678-3175).

Inquiries regarding the application of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and regulations there under, to any policy, program or other activity of the College should be directed to Bill Baldwin Interim Dean who is designated as the College's Section 504 Compliance Officer (Office of the Dean, Box 151, 122 Zankel, New York, NY 10027, telephone 212-678-8154).
