Summer 2017 Aid

Summer aid applications are now available.  Please read the following information before submitting the application. The link to the form is at the bottom of this page, and you may download it to your computer, complete it in Adobe, and e-mail it back to us. You may also fax or mail it to us (all info is on the bottom of the form). Hard copies are also available in our office. Contact us if you have questions.

Term of entry
Summer 2017 is part of the 2016-2017 academic year. This application is for continuing students only. If you are entering TC for the first time in Summer 2017, the summer aid application is not necessary.

Loan eligibility
Note that if you have already used $20,500 in Unsubsidized Stafford Loan in the Fall 2016 and/or Spring 2017 terms, you have reached your yearly federal maximum with this loan. Your only option at this point will be the Graduate PLUS Loan. View your TC Portal to see which forms of aid you have used this year.

Credit check
Students who have used the Graduate PLUS Loan in the past may have an expired credit check. If it has been more than 180 days since your most recent PLUS Loan credit check, you will need to use the directions on our website under Accept Financial Aid to complete a new one. Follow the directions in Step 1 under the "Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan" section. Students who attended TC in the fall and/or spring semesters, but did not use PLUS Loan funding and now wish to use it for the summer should contact us before completing the credit check to ensure that the appropriate forms are completed.

Enrollment
You must enroll in six or more credit hours to be eligible for federal aid of any kind during the summer. It does not matter how the six credit hours are distributed. You could take all six in A, all six in B, or three in A and three in B, or in any other combination.

Loan origination fees
Your loans have origination fees associated with them, so you should not borrow exactly what you need. Borrow a little more than what you actually need to disburse to your student account to cover these fees. The loan origination fee for the Unsubsidized loan is 1.069% and the Graduate PLUS loan is 4.276%.

Amount of funding needed
You must provide us with an amount of funding that you need for the summer under the appropriate loan heading. Summer loan applications that leave this field blank will not be accepted. Please review our Cost of Attendance page to calculate your costs for the summer. Tuition will be $1,512 per credit hour in the summer. You will be charged a one-time $438 college fee, as well. Once processed, your budget will account for summer tuition and fees, as well as personal expenses, housing, transportation, books, and supplies.
