Alumni Council Nomination Form

Help us celebrate the distinguished service and accomplishments of our alumni community! The Teachers College Alumni Council is seeking new members to serve on its board. We invite you to nominate Teachers College graduates who have distinguished themselves in any field to serve a three-year term as volunteers on the Alumni Council.

Mission

The mission of the Teachers College Alumni Council is (Re)Connecting Alumni to Teachers College to advance the goals of the College. Specifically, the objectives of the Council are:
  • To assist the College in maintaining a positive image among alumni
  • To recommend and support College-sponsored alumni activities
  • To assist the College in obtaining financial support
  • To encourage the enrollment of qualified graduate students
  • To recognize excellence and professional achievement among alumni
  • To foster lifelong identification and involvement with the College
  • To serve as a channel of communication between the College and its alumni

Member Expectations

In seeking members for the Alumni Council, the Nominations Committee looks for alumni who are willing to devote time, imagination, and resources to the Council’s goals. These goals include: acting as advisors to the administration of the College; acting as informed advocates for the mission and vision of the College; serving as a liaison between TC and its alumni; taking a leadership role in sponsoring events, fundraising, and supporting the College on public policy issues; recognizing professional achievements of alumni; fostering a sense of responsibility for the College among its graduates; and serving as mentors to students and recent graduates.
Council members are graduates of the College who have demonstrated leadership in their professional fields, whose careers give them access to networks of potential support for the College, who are willing to devote energy and organizational skills to council-sponsored events, and who provide direct financial support for the College.

Please note that final selection of new members will be made by the President of Teachers College following
