Jenne K. Britell (PhD, 1981) is featured in an article entitled "Girl Scouts to Honor Six Women With `Smarts and Savvy' in Finance and Investments."  Dr. Britell was one of the six women, all of them accomplished in their fields of finance and investments, that were honored by Girl Scouts of Southeastern Pennsylvania (GSSP) at the Take the Lead Awards on Wednesday, March 12. Jenne K. Britell, Ph.D., of Rittenhouse Square, PA, is chairman and CEO of Structured Ventures, Inc., advisors to private equity and venture capital firms. She is a director of three public companies: Crown Cork & Seal, Co., Inc., Lincoln National Corporation and Aames Financial Corp. She is also director of the U.S. Russia Investment Fund and a trustee of five Philadelphia not-for-profit organizations. Dr. Britell is a former senior executive of GE Capital, the Financial Services subsidiary of General Electric. Prior, she was president and CEO of GE Capital, Central and Eastern Europe based in Vienna, and in her previous role as president and chief executive officer of GE Capital Mortgage Services, she engineered the company's turnaround. Before joining GE Capital, she had significant roles with Dime Bancorp, and HomePower, Inc. She also served as the founding chairman and chief executive officer of the Polish-American Mortgage Bank in Warsaw, Poland. Dr. Britell also held senior positions at Citicorp and Republic New York Corporation.
