BOOK TALK: Author Gregory Mitchie gave a reading in Milbank Chapel on January 25 from See You When We Get There, his portrait of five young minority female teachers who are "working for change." The book interweaves the teachers' voices with classroom vignettes and the author's own experiences. Michie is an assistant professor of secondary education at National-Louis University in Chicago. The TC Booktalk event also featured a panel discussion that included some of the teachers described by Michie. It was moderated by Suzanne Carothers, a professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning at the Steinhardt School of Education, New York University.
