CEP Releases Report on the U.S. Public Education System

A Public Education Primer: Basic (and Sometimes Surprising) Facts about the U.S. Education System, provides a comprehensive picture of the nation's public schools.

The Center on Education Policy has just released a comprehensive new report on the U.S. education system and how things have changed-- and will continue to change -- over time.  The primer, A Public Education Primer: Basic (and Sometimes Surprising) Facts about the U.S. Education System, provides a vivid picture of the nation's public schools by answering questions such as:

  •          Who are the students?

  •          Where are the students?

  •          Who controls public education?

  •          How are public schools funded?

  •          How well are students achieving?

  •          What is the public school teaching force like?

  •          What other services do public schools provide?
