Inside Higher Ed Focuses on Glazer-Raymo's Book on Challenges Women Face in Academia

A new book of essays edited by TC faculty member Judith Glazer-Raymo on the continuing challenges that face women in higher education is the focus of a story in Inside Higher Ed. The book, Unfinished Agendas: New and Continuing Gender Challenges in Higher Education (Johns Hopkins University Press), focuses more on organizational issues and other barriers to women's advancement that on overt sexism.

"Some people say, ‘You’ve got the numbers up. You are there,’ but we still have many of the same issues. They aren’t as obvious because there are many more women and the issues are more subtle,” says Glazer-Raymo, who teaches in TC's Department of Higher and Post-Secondary Education, in the article.

The article, Women, Men and Service, appeared inthe July 17, 2008 edition of Inside Higher Ed. http://www.insidehighered.com/news/2008/07/17/women
