A Message About Haiti

Teachers College joins with people all over the world in expressing its horror, grief and concern about the recent earthquake in Haiti.

Members of the TC community who wish to contribute assistance of any kind can find a list of participating relief organizations on the CNN website at http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2007/impact/
 
In addition, TC has  launched its own drive to deliver food and clothing to Haiti, sponsored by the the College's Office of Diversity and Community Affairs Office of Student Activities and Programs, and the Marketing Office.  See this page for information.

For those who want to give to this effort, the drop-off location for food is in Zankel Hall, first floor, by the main entrance.

All non-perishable foods are welcome. The most needed foods are: 
  • Shelf stable milk

  • Rice, pastas and beans

  • 100% juices and juice packs (no glass)

  • Canned chicken and tuna

  • Canned fruits and vegetables

  • Canned and packaged soup mixes

  • Hot and cold cereal (packaged, family-sized)

  • Peanut butter in plastic jars



The drop-off locations for clothing are in Zankel Lobby, Thorndike Lobby and Horace Mann Lobby. Needed are:
 
  • New and Gently-Worn Clothing for Men, Women and Children

  • New and Gently-Worn Shoes (specifically sneakers, sandals, flat shoes) for Men, Women and Children
