Giving to TC Fund Rises, Led by Trustees and Dewey Circle Members

Giving to the Teachers College Annual Fund is up by 26 percent in total dollars versus a year ago at this time, driven by a 10 percent increase in membership in the College’s John Dewey Circle and leadership giving at all levels by members of the TC Board of Trustees.

“The TC Fund plays an ever increasing role in the financial stability of the College,” says Suzanne Murphy, Vice President for Development and External Affairs. “It supports everyone and everything we do, day to day, enabling the College to plan, to budget resources, to think big – so this increase is real cause for celebration.”

The Annual Fund contributes income equal to what would be generated by $30 million in endowment, Murphy says, closing the gap between income and the operating budget.

The Dewey Circle recognizes and honors those who partner with Teachers College by contributing $1,000 or more to the TC Fund.

“These leadership gifts make a direct and immediate difference in the lives of the College’s students and faculty members, providing them with the resources they need to advance scholarship, develop policy and act with impact,” says Susan Scherman, Director of the Annual Fund and Leadership Giving. “We are enormously grateful to everyone who has contributed to the Fund’s growth, and we urge all members of the TC community to consider supporting the Fund in the coming months.”
