In February 2016, the ARAD Alumni Committee launched a Mentorship program connecting alumni and 2nd-year ARAD students. The program aims to build personal and professional connections that give students an advantage as they leave the program as new alumni and enter the world of arts administration.
We are currently seeking alumni who are interested in serving as mentors for the 2016-17 academic year. This is a volunteer position, and we understand your time is valuable. We hope the program will allow you to make a big impact with a reasonable amount of commitment.
The only requirements to serve as a mentor are:
1) One phone call where mentor/mentee discuss the expectations and parameters of their relationship. They confirm: the best method of communication and the frequency with which they are able to communicate.
2) One subsequent phone or in-person meeting before graduation.
3) One opportunity offering by the mentor to invite mentee to a workplace or arts administration networking-related event. Examples include: Inviting the mentee to a gallery opening, show, or lecture; inviting mentee to a professional, off-site networking event; arranging an informational meeting/coffee with someone else in your organization.
If you are interested in participating as a mentor, please send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
The ARAD Alumni Committee (AAC) aims to connect alumni living throughout the globe. Through regional activity and networking events in New York, throughout the United States, and internationally, the AAC looks to bring together ARAD alumni to foster community and dialogue, as well as professional and social interaction.
To date, the AAC has hosted events in New York City, Boston, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and Taipei, with additional events planned nationally and internationally in the coming year.
Are you interested in connecting with ARAD alumni in your city or region? Would you be willing to help organize a mixer, panel, cultural outing, or other event in your city or region?
