TC Student Kokoe Tanaka Suwan featured in documentary showing at TriBeCa Film Festival

Kokoe has a message for the TC music education community:

Please allow me to share some amazing news! My school (where I am the music director at) is featured in a documentary film called, Joe's Violin. It is the story of a Holocaust survivor that donated his violin to the WQXR Instrument Drive, how we were the school chosen to receive his violin, and how I choose a student to play on his donated violin at school. It's the story of how two people from worlds apart are connected by music and this instrument!

This film is going to world premiere at the TriBeCa Film Festival next month!

Please see the trailer:

In addition, last week we won a second grant from Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation (MHOF) worth $49,000 worth of instruments for my school! Last year we won $48,000 worth of instruments! Their mission is to keep music alive in public schools across the nation.

All the best,

Kokoe
