The following is a list of professorial faculty and the doctoral concentrations or specialties with which they are officially associated. The list is intended to aid doctoral students in selecting dissertation sponsors and second committee members.
It should be noted that a faculty member’s association with one or more areas does not mean that the faculty member does not work with students doing dissertations in other areas, particularly since these are not mutually exclusive areas. In fact, most department faculty members have worked with students doing dissertations in all areas. However, it is strongly advised that each doctoral student work with at least one faculty member in the area closest to one’s dissertation.
