Megan Adams
NYC Lab Middle School for the Collaborative Studies

Megan Adams graduated from the Educational Leadership Program at Columbia University, Teachers College and has been principal of New York City Lab Middle School for Collaborative Studies since2008. Lab's philosophy centers around four key values -- Collaboration, Diversity & Pluralism, Compassion and Academic Rigor. These four values work in tandem to create a dynamic learning community.Over the past three years, Megan has worked to build a school culture reflective of these values.Through athletics, arts enrichment, social action and leadership, students apply these values to practice.Our primary goal is that every child is connected to the school beyond the core academic experience.Megan started her educational journey in the rural south. Megan taught elementary school in Lake Village,Arkansas -- a small farming community along the banks of the Mississippi River. These were formative years which instilled her life-long commitment to public education. Megan is originally from Omaha, Nebraska and is currently pursing her doctorate in Educational Administration.
